Biography:
Far From Close combines thoughtfully honest lyrics with passionate vocals and a contagiously percussive rhythm section, mixing acoustic rock with undertones of jazz, for a truly unique sound. Their music has been described as "poetic and engaging" with "mesmerizing chord progressions and rhythms" that cover the full range of emotion from deeply expressive ballads to all out acoustic rock.
Manny Jasus (guitar and vocals) is a singer-songwriter from Concord, NH and shares his own unique style of insight and personality in everything he writes and sings. Steven Guerrera (bass) brings a funky-smooth 6-string fretless bass to the works and leads the attack with dancing hooks and blistering solos. Jason Buck (drums) forms the second half of the rhythm section and is the steady backbone of the band, effortlessly moving around and through our songs.
Far From Close continues to play several venues and festivals throughout New England, sharing songs of faith, hope, and love.
What People
are Saying about Far From Close:
“The
first time we heard Manny's songs, we knew we were witnessing something
unique and wonderful. Far From Close offers lyrics to be challenged by,
supported by music that is far from ordinary. We continue to be blessed
by their ministry and talents.”
- Debbie Moynihan, Beauty 4 Ashes
“Far
From Close played at a youth rally we held where Josh McDowell was the
speaker, and they fit in perfectly. In youth ministry there are many different
subcultures of teens, and as youth ministers, we need to find a way to
reach all of them...Far From Close reaches those kids, as their music
speaks to other areas of life than mainstream Christian music does.”
- Danny Lightner, Associate
Pastor/Youth Ministries
Calvary Bible Church
“I
met Manny of Far From Close at an open mic in Concord. I immediately fell
in love with his vocal style: think Billy Corgan but more palatable. We
talked for minute and he told me about his band and how they were going
to play at SoulFest...I left the conversation thinking, "what a humble
dude." We have kept in touch ever since.”
- Ben Nester, Routine
